  Not Everyone Celebrates Halloween!

  i got this in my email today from my zealot jw aunt.

  this is the first time she has ever sent me anything of this nature.

  she is completely aware than i am not a jw and that i celebrate holidays.

  What's funny in an ironic sorta way - how these diehard Christians think everyone should have their "insight" into whatever it is they are against (JW and holidays) yet refuse to listen to issues that has much more impact upon the child...hum, like pedophiles running amuck.

  Give me a break, Auntie. But you summed it up...her life has been one big indoctrination. Might as well save your breath for more important things. Just my thought.

  Ewanchuk v. Ewanchuk: JW grandparents' rights case

  earlier this month, the supreme court of the northwest territories rendered judgement on this case, involving grandparents rights of access to their grandchildren and their right to expose the grandchildren to their religion.

  practising jehovahs witnesses.. tracy ewanchuk (respondent): the mother of asia and alecsa.

  a second is that he views their exposure to his religious practices as something that is healthy for them.

  Thank you for posting this. Whew! I was holding my breath just waiting to read the final outcome. Thanks goodness there are some judges who are concerned about protecting the children.

  My opinion only, but how many people really believe that a non-believer in this Christian god and all that entails lack moral character? Of course we desire our grandchildren to develope a healthy attitude towards gratitude, sharing, reaching out a helping hand to our brethen, but when confronted by religious idealogy that surpresses the inquisitive mind - instilling a robotic state of thinking; well, I'm glad that not all children have to go through the process of being mentally enslaved to a man made dogma.

  i will not be on much in the next couple of days.

  just found out that my aunt passed away yesterday morning, after a long battle with cancer.

  she defied doctors diagnosis for years.

  I'm sorry for your loss.

  I also have an only aunt who is my favorite relative aside from my son and his children of course. We have had many discussions about her passing since she is 74 and not that good of health. Her sister and only sibling is my mother, a JW.

  But I know I'm blessed for having a wonderful relationship with my aunt. We usually end up laughing and always agree that we can make the other laugh through the many heartaches. Well, I just wanted too extend my heart felt condolences because losing such a loved one is never easy.

  i have sequins glued to my forehead, paint on my legs, and various craft articles strewn about me.

  And yes, Jo, do enjoy the holidays!!!!!!! You ain't seen a bargin until you shop in January for the next Christmas. I don't understand all the crazy shoppers that wait until the last minute because I'm GOODand have such organizational skills that waiting until December would make me even more neurotic. I did say "more" right? as in, I'm already neurotic - especially when it comes to my painting. Ssshhhhhhhhhh.

  Bible: Women are Inferior

  no teaching in the bible is clearer and more consistent than the one which holds women to be inferior to men.

  below i show that it is taught that the woman was created from man, for man, that man--not woman--is the glory of god, and that women are not allowed to teach or control man because the woman, not the man, is the one who was deceived by the serpent.

  " (1 corinthians 11:2-9) "for a man...is the image and glory of god: but the woman is the glory of the man.

  Like what you post...

  I'm no lover of Christianity, that's for sure. And I'd agree with silverleaf - I could care less what Paul or any of em' wrote. People who need to feel superior, and those who have a need too be dominated. And it ain't always the man doing the dominating either.

  Actually I prefer balance in a relationship...I like my man doing the more physically demanding work who is also capable of compassion, tenderness, and letting me have my way. OH, I got one. Lucky me

  Attitudes such as expressed in the Bible could very well explain why those guys were not married. Or were they? Oh well, I really don't care about the prophets of old. Give me a Goddess any day.

  And it's also a shame that thousands more will willingly give up their right to own and bear guns because the government will shortly use this as another reason to disarm the citizen. Seems more and more when people become frightened and/or outraged at this type insanity, the more willing they they are to have big brother find the solution. And of course it comes down to the continued lose of personal freedoms.

  And who really thinks that the criminal element will not continue having their weapons...?

  Have you ever had a premonition?

  in 1990 one of my best friends (mike) was riding in a van with another friend of mine who was driving (scott).

  they pulled into the parking lot of a mini-mart that was in a bad part of town, to say the least (people often referred to it as "uzi alley").

  the reason they pulled in was because they thought they recognized someone in the parking lot.

  Not like the one you spoke of, but I've experienced the instant of 'knowing.' It spared me anger, digust, contempt, a myriad of emotion because the truth was immediately accepted. And of course it proved true. I like when that happens.

  I also believe that those moments of clarity come about because we are paying closer attention to the life around us. We have developed ears to hear; eyes to see. So using that ability at different levels of perception is probably more "normal" then we give credit for. After all, we're supposed to be born sinners that need someone or something else telling us how to connect to spirit; when in fact all we need to do (or so is my opinion), is connect with our own Spirit. After that, we are capable of many things...even premonition. Just works differently for different personalities.

  And so it is with many things in life...you ain't always gonna understand someone else.

  You love your wife...would attend any church she wanted you to. You don't agree with the teachings, but find it an ok place to sit. You even get some healthy socialization from said association because they are accepting of who you are, etc.

  You've stated over and over and over how you just don't/can't understand us...let me ask you a question, please. How do you sit comfortably with a group of people that while on the one hand are decent, loving and caring people; that can turn ice cold on command? Your "attitude" just doesn't make sense to me because as already stated, you have never officially been a "membe." So, how do you reconsile association with those who are capable of such harmful, hypocritical, hateful, judgmental attitudes?

  I don't get it...is your mind not searching something while you sit and listen to lies? Or, is that to strong a word? Why don't you swallow "it all" hook, line and sinker? eh. And then continue stating how you just don't get some of the "attitude" you see around here.

  Trybalance, I'll never understand people like you. So guess we're pretty squared on that one.

  Vision into the "New System of Things"

  if john was privy to a vision of this time period in revelations, as the witnesses claim.

  then perhaps we could have a vision of what the future would be like if the "new system" actually happened.

  i set there in a vision of the night and i looked around me and i was in the calm of days, and all was perfect.

  Alright, Kenpo! I liked this one.

  My first thought was of a vampire. This guy does various things to end it all, forgetting that he had achieved his life goal...immortality.

  Hey, hubby tells me that instead of coming back as a ghost that haunts in a humerous sorta way, he is coming back as a vampire. It does make me chuckle, that's for sure . But I'll ask him what his intention will be after he has sucked everyone dry. Eternity is a very long time indeed.

  Maybe something else here, too: Religions all seem hell bent to rid the Earth of their conceived enemies. Which of them don't preach some sort of after life...and of course we know that the level you attain to, depends upon your life here. It always goes back to judgement.

  Dragon, we are picking up all 3 grandcildren tomorrow morning. They will spend couple days with us. I'm so friggen' excited! I'm sick of the granddaughter being ill all the time. One brings it home from school, and next thing all the kids are sick. Head lice, too, is a problem from public schools.

  I'm just sharing this with you because I think of you and your wife often. Baby Dragon is fast approaching, eh. How wonderful. I'm special fond of little boy's because I had one child only, a son. And he turns 27 in November. Not a boy any longer...he is quite a handsome man that's for sure.

  Nearly 4 years ago when we came back to this state after 2 years in the South, I struggled with the old thinking about an after life. What worked for me was seeing the future in my grandchildren. That's the only future I can see, and we do have an obligation to teach our children. But, what will we teach, eh.

  I like having those good dreams. I also like being able to shift my perception whilst in a dream state. Learning that little trick has been a life saver because I didn't/don't always like where I travel; I do have the ability to transcend the Old. Maybe that's where the secret lies; awaken from a self-induced dream, and face reality. Or, could it be just another illusion/dream? At what point is reality really known? Some of my ramblings.
